Real Madrid left-back Marcelo defended his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, the target of criticism for his performance after Madrid were eliminated from the Champions League semi-final by Juventus.
Marcelo insisted that the Portuguese forward always give his all when he takes the field.
“People are used to seeing him score three or four goals a game, so when he scores only one they say he is out of shape,” Marcelo said. “Cristiano is a machine, he always works hard and helps the team, so it is unfair to say he is not fit. “
