New Arsenal signing Gabriel Paulista is set to go straight into Arsenal’s squad for their Sunday meeting with Aston Villa after impressing Arsene Wenger in training.
The centre back trained yesterday, just one day after his signature was announced, and he has already done enough to convince the Frenchman of his readiness to be involved.
“We are in a job where competition exists,” Wenger said. “The best player of the moment plays.
“He’s ready to go. He’ll be in the squad certainly. He started training on Thursday and he looks fit.
“I saw great quality. His level of concentration, he’s quick, has great commitment and he’s young.”
