Chelsea defender Filipe Luis has accepted that competition for places was always going to be tough at the west London club but he is confident he will take his opportunity soon.

The Brazilian hasn’t cemented himself as first-choice left-back yet under manager Jose Mourinho but he is sure he will get a chance soon.

The 29-year-old was quoted by Goal.com, he said:  “Everyone here wants to play.

“When you do not play, you’re not happy at all, but I came here, to Chelsea, to win titles. The team is always more important than any player.

“The season is very long… Everyone will have their chance and will try to take it.”

Filipe Luis also commented on the similarities between current coach Mourinho and previous boss Diego Simeone of Atletico Madrid.

He added: “They are completely different coaches, but have one thing in common: the ambition to win in their teams.”
