Brazil Head Coach Dunga has hinted that serious misconduct was behind Maicon’s suspension from the Seleção.
The Roma full-back was sent home from the squad that played in friendly matches earlier this month and Dunga has admitted he could have potentially been sacked for the offence.
“I had to explain to my managers what the reasons were, and I also told the players,” he told Fox Sports.
“Others have speculated on the subject, but this is not my problem. You’ve got to show respect for him as a professional.
“If I were to say what the problem was and Maicon were to lose his contract with Roma and with his sponsors, it would be my fault.”
