Sao Paulo head coach Muricy Ramalho has backed his Palmeiras counterpart Ricardo Gareca to succeed ahead of the clash between the pair tomorrow evening.

Muricy, whose side lie in fifth place in the Brasileirao championship table, told reporters ahead of the game: “The start of a life coaching in another country has the problem of language, of adaptation, of the players, the logistics of the places where you’re going to play.”

“People have to understand that they cannot bring in a foreign coach and wish for results the next day.”

“He is reshaping the whole team and that’s why, at the beginning, it doesn’t alwyas work.”

Argentine Gareca has brought about changes to his Palmeiras squad in the past few months, deciding to bring in countrymen Fernando Tobio, Agustin Allione and Jonathan Cristaldo.
