Luiz Felipe Scolari will forever go down as a managerial legend in Brazil, simply for the fact that he led O Selecao to their fifth, and most recent, World Cup triumph in Japan and South Korea twelve years ago.

Brazil’s relative failure in their own hosting of the tournament in 2014, losing as they did to eventual winners Germany at the Semi Final stage, is set to see the end of his second spell in charge, but what else has ‘Big Phil’ achieved in his career?

  • Campeonato Brasileiro (Gremio, x1)
  • Copa Libertadores (Gremio, x1; Palmeiras, x1)
  • Copa do Brasil (Gremio, x1; Palmeiras, x2; Criciuma, x1)
  • Recopa Sudamerica (Gremio, x1)

As well as the seven major club trophies won by Scolari, he of course led Brazil to last year’s Confederations Cup triumph on home soil, as well as guiding Portugal to second place at Euro 2004 and fourth place at the World Cup two years after that. A seven month spell in charge of English team Chelsea ended after a string of frustrating results in 2009, before he took over at Palmeiras and finally Brazil, both for a second time.
