Cameroon head coach Volker Finke has admitted that star striker Samuel Eto’o is a doubt for their crunch Group A encounter with Croatia on Wednesday evening, with both teams knowing that a defeat would effectively end their chances of progression into the second round of the 2014 World Cup.

The situation is more severe for the African team, as they face Brazil in the last round of fixtures a week today, so anything less than a win over the Croatians would probably end their participation in the tournament.

Finke told reporters: “He has performed with this pain in his knee after the first game and the pain has returned.”

“We do not have the definition if he will play or not. Today I can say that the chance of him playing is 50%.”

Wednesday’s game in Manaus takes place at 2300GMT.
