After being eliminated from the Champions League by the Catalan outfit last year, the Brazilian defender is seeking retribution this time around.

Paris Saint-Germain last night sealed their passage through to the quarter-finals of European football’s finest competition with a 6-1 aggregate win over Bayer Leverkusen.

The Parisian club reached the same stage of the competition last year but a 2-2 draw at the Parc des Princes and a 1-1 draw at the Nou Camp saw Barcelona progress on away goals.

“I would have liked to have met AC Milan, my old club, but they’ve been knocked out,” he told reporters.

“We are stronger than last year and whoever we get can expect two very difficult matches. But we’d be more focused against a big team.”

“It wouldn’t be bad to draw Barcelona to get our revenge. But we’d have to make sure that the result is the other way around.”
