Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Júlio César is set to join Major League Soccer side Toronto FC on loan, according to Brazil Head Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.

The 34 year-old has found himself as second choice to Robert Green in the Championship this season.

With the World Cup just around the corner, Scolari insists it’s important his first choice goalkeeper is playing regular and insists MLS is stronger than many anticipate.

“Júlio is in our group, he should be officially introduced to his new club," he said, as reported by GOAL.com. “Toronto should be finalising the last few details and he should be in great condition. There will be no problem with him.

“Lots of players arrives in the United States thinking it will be easy and then end up not playing. They stay for four or five months and then leave.

“We wish he were playing and now he will be. The MLS is not the end of [a] career."
