Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has lavished praise on his attacking midfielder Oscar and said that his match-winning strike in the FA Cup against Stoke City was just reward for the amount of effort he puts into traing at the Stamford Bridge club.

The 22 year-old is in his second season in England and has been enjoying a more fruitful campaign after a year of settling in. A sublime free kick ended Stoke’s cup run at the weekend and Mourinhotold goal.com that it was down to Oscar’s training attitude.

“We were happy because the free kick by Oscar, he trains for it. It’s good to see a player who devotes a few minutes at the end of training for a specific move and then score a beautiful goal as he did.”

Oscar, capped 28 times by Brazil at the age of 22, has scored nine goals in his 29 appearances so far this term.

Chelsea’s reward for getting into the next round is a daunting away trip to Premier League and FA Cup favourites Manchester City.
