Brazil’s number one has not played a single game for QPR this season, but manager Harry Redknapp expects the 34-year-old to leave in the forthcoming transfer window.

“I would think there is every chance that Júlio will go,” said Redknapp.

“He’s a fantastic goalkeeper, for me he’s a goalkeeper for the top level anywhere in the world. Hopefully, something will come up for him in January.”

“We’ve had a few clubs interested in him, which is not a surprise to me because, if you were at a big club, he’d be right there on your shopping list because he is top class.”

Interest in the ex-Inter Milan star is thought to include Premier League clubs as well as big clubs from abroad, with Sampdoria the latest team to be linked with a move.

With next summer’s World Cup approaching, César is likely to want regular first team football as he looks to fend off competition from the likes of Diego Cavalieri and Jefferson for a starting berth in Felipe Scolari’s side.
