With the World Cup just around the corner, and the group stage draw in two weeks time, Seleção star Marcelo feels that Spain are the team to beat.
Spain are favourites with the bookmakers to regain their as World Champions, and Marcelo seconds this view. In an interview this week the full back has spoke out about the World Champions.
The 25 year old said: “The favorite is Spain and we (the national team) a lot of respect for them. The best in the world so far. They are a step above all others.”
Marcelo went on to talk about Brazil’s chances at the tournaments and his own fitness, having been ruled out of the Seleção’s recent games due to a knee injury.
“It ‘s a crazy thing. People only speak of the World Cup. We have a lot of pressure, but it’s a good pressure. Hopefully we are going to do well,”
“I got to train with the team part. Feelings are good and I hope you are 100 % ASAP. Did not have a concrete date, but I’m training and getting stronger to be better as quickly as possible.”
Marcelo has been a constant performer for Real Madrid and Brazil and was missed in the friendlies against, Honduras and Chile.
