Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has denied he is interested in bringing Chelsea defender David Luiz to the club.

Speculation was rife after Bayern’s 4-2 German Super Cup final defeat by Borussia Dortmund that Guardiola wants to bring in another centre-back, with the Brazilian name top of his list, reports Sky Sports.

However, Guardiola has refuted the claims, saying he is happy with the defensive options he already has to work with, he said at a presentation before the Audi Cup in Munich.

Bayern have the option of dropping holding midfielder Javi Martinez in to a centre-back position now that Thiago Alcântara has arrived to fill a similar role to the one he had last season.

Guardiola said: “He’s not coming to Munich. We’ve got four or five central defenders.

“There is no truth to the speculation.”

Rumours over David Luiz’s future refuse to go away with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho reportedly questioning the Brazilian’s capabilities as a defender.
