Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has revealed that it would have cost the club €150 million to sign Neymar from Santos.

Neymar ended a long-running saga on Monday by signing for Real’s biggest rivals, Barcelona, joining the likes of Lionel Messi and Dani Alves.

But Perez lamented missing the chance to sign the Seleção star, and revealed they could have recruited Neymar as an 18-year-old in 2010.

“Neymar would have cost the club €150 million,” Perez told Cadena Ser. “We had the chance to sign him three years ago, but there were lots of conditions now.”

Neymar is set to take the number 11 shirt at Barcelona but will play for Brazil at the Confederations Cup before packing his bags for Catalunya.
