Sambafoot takes a look at last night’s Campeonato Mineiro action…

Cruzeiro finished as league leaders with a 2-0 win over Tupi thanks to goals from Dagoberto and Borges and qualifies for the final stages of the competition.

Atlético Mineiro followed suit as they launched a comeback against Villa Nova to win 2-1 with Ronaldinho and Rosinei grabbling the three points, and both teams progress to the final stages.

Tombense finished in third as goals from Junior Negao and Joílson fired them to a 2-0 win over América Mineiro and a place in the knockout stages.

Araxá are relegated from the Mineiro’s top division after a 2-1 defeat to Nacional MG and América TO followed them into the drop as they drew 1-1 with Caldense.

In a dead rubber, Guarani took a 2-1 win over Boa Esporte which means Boa Esporte narrowly avoid relegation this season.

The finals stages of the Campeonato Mineiro will be taking place soon to find the overall winner of the competition.
