Barcelona’s Dani Alves has dismissed speculation that he is pressuring Santos’ Neymar to join the Catalan giants in the summer.

The duo joined up with Luiz Felipe Scolari’s squad for the friendly clahs against England on Wednesday which ended in a disappointing loss for the Seleção.

But the fullback took the time after the game to tell reporters that any decision to move is Neymar’s alone.

“He is Brazil’s best player and there is no doubt about it that he will further improve in Europe. I can only give him advice, but it is up to him to make the decision whether he wants to join Barcelona or not,” the right-back said.

Neymar is the subject of constant speculation over his future as his contract expires in 2014 and the player himself has reiterated many times that his immediate future is at Santos until after the World Cup.

The Seleção star is attracting interest from the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid with his price tage quoted as high as €50m.
