Lille striker Túlio de Melo is hoping to make more of an impact when Ligue 1 action resumes next week, following a difficult first half of the campaign.

The Brazilian forward has made 14 league appearances so far this season, despite a number of groin problems, but is yet to find the back of the net.

However, Melo is hoping to return from the Winter break rejuvenated and ready to give 100% to the cause.

The 27-year-old said: “I’m going back to give one hundred percent and the maximum to have a great second half of the season.

“I’ve bounced back a million times and I will raise my head again. I will be back soon and we will have a great second half of the season.”

Melo, who joined the French outfit from Palermo in 2008, also had to deny rumours of an exit from the Grand Stade Lille Metropole.

“I don’t know what you are talking about, no one has told me,” he said when asked about the rumours.

“I am under contract until 2014 and I want to help Lille, that’s my primary objective.”

The north east club, who were champions two seasons ago, are currently eighth in the Ligue 1 standings, nine points behind Paris Saint-Germain.
