However, both Oscar and David Luiz, talking to Brazilian radio, insisted that the side would be properly prepared for the encounter and fully aware of the Brazilians’ abilities.

It has been a criticism in Brazil recently that Chelsea’s players have not respected the Brazilian side with several players admitting they know little about the Brazilian side.

However, the Brazilian duo are in little doubt that they will be fully prepared by the date of the possible encounter.

“They still don’t really know Corinthians, but they will get to know gradually,” Oscar told ESPN Estadão. “There are always some videos to watch, and the Brazilians will also give some advice.

“But, everyone knows and understands the Club World Cup. Benitez has taken part twice, so the team is treating it importantly.”

Defender David Luiz added: “I have Brazilian TV in my house, so I am always watching all the games.

“Once you know you will face an opponent, you always watch. Benitez will try to detail to us the best way possible.”
