São Paulo confirmed on Tuesday that midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso will make his debut for the club on Sunday against Náutico at Morumbi.

Ganso, 23, was given the go-ahead to begin his return to fitness on 19th October after his left thigh injury was reported to have healed and, now, he is finally ready to take the field for his new club, although he is not yet fit enough to last the whole 90 minutes.

The playmaker moved to São Paulo after a contract dispute with his former club Santos, and his new coach Ney Franco is expecting big things from the playmaker.

He told the club’s official website: “We have great expectations with Ganso in São Paulo, especially for 2013. He now needs to find rytham in his game and I will give him that chance. He’s a great player, who is overcoming a difficult phase and that begins on Sunday to resume his career.”

São Paulo have the chance to secure Copa Libertadores qualification on Sunday, providing the beat Náutico and Botafogo stumble in their game away to Sport.
