Former Brazil national team coach Dunga has praised Chelsea starlet Oscar, calling the young midfielder a “phenomenon”.

Dunga, 49, was speaking to Italian sports newspaper Tuttosport when asked about the former Internacional player.

He said: “Oscar is a phenomenon. Incredible, he will become a top player. Some liken him to Kaka in style, but recently changed the style of play and has improved a lot physically.”

As well as Oscar, Dunga, who left the job as Seleção manager after the 2010 World Cup, was also asked about other young players coming through in Brazil. And the former coach pointed to São Paulo, Oscar’s first club, as the hotbed of young talent that clubs like AC Milan, Inter and Juventus should be looking at.

“Now, the young players who are the best are found in São Paulo: Casemiro, João Felipe and at just 18-years-old, Ademílson.”

The former midfielder also expressed regret for Felipe Melo, who is in his second season on loan at Galatasaray from Juventus, saying that the player “left Juventus at the wrong time. Alongside Pirlo, he would be perfect.”
