Fomer Chelsea star Juliano Belletti has warned Corinthians not to be complacent if they face English giants Chelsea in the Club World Cup.

Belletti, 36, spoke to reporters: “The Club World Cup has gained a bit of emphasis on the achievements of Barcelona but European Clubs still prioritize the Champions League.

“Chelsea thinks so too, but wants to win as many titles as possible. About ten years ago, nobody knew who Chelsea was.

“Corinthians should take care. The World Club Cup is not a priority, but they will want to win.”

The former Barcelona and Chelsea fullback believes than Corinthians can take advantage of Chelsea’s lack of interest in the Club World Cup:

“The preparations of the Brazilians is far superior to the Europeans. But they make up for it in quality.”

Belletti, who is now retired from football, also reflected on his time at the London club: “I played three seasons there. It is impossible not to root for Chelsea.”

The former Seleção fullback, who won 23 caps for Brazil, famously scored the winning goal for Barcelona in their 2-1 win over Arsenal in the 2005/06 Champions League Final.

The 2012 Club World Cup gets underway in Japan on December 6.
