Edmilson, 35, who retired last season playing for Ceará was a Barcelona player for four seasons, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League.
At the time, Ronaldinho was considered the best player in the world and was instrumental to everything good about the Barcelona team.
“He was an exceptional player at Barça. I do not know what happened in his last months at the club," Edmilson told the radio station.
“He arrived at the club at an important time, he won everything and changed Barça"s history.
“What Barça have become now is 80 percent because of him [Ronaldinho]. He decided to leave to join Milan, but unfortunately he couldn"t keep performing at the same level he had shown at Barcelona."
