Despite the on-going legal battle between Inter and São Paulo over Oscar’s contract, the highly-rated midfielder was eligible to play for the Colorado, and it was he who opened the scoring in the 24th minute.

Leandro Damião held up possession on the edge of the Juan Aurich penalty area, to then tee up Oscar – who made no mistake of firing his side in front.

Twelve minutes later things were made a lot easier for Inter when Juan Aurich were reduced to ten men. Midfielder Cesar Ortiz rightly recieved his second yellow card for a late challenge on Damião.

For the remainder of game the Porto Alegre outfit dominated proceedings, but it wasn’t until the 89th minute that the hosts finally sealed the win. Argentinian substitute Jesus Datalo reacted first to João Paulo’s re-bounded shot, smashing his shot in to the roof of the net from six-yards out.
