Flu experienced the bitter taste of the defeat for the first time in 2012. Playing in their lucky hunting ground of Volta Redonda, the Tricolor managed to take the lead thanks to a goal from Deco, but Boavista made a late comeback to run out 2-1 victors.

Much to the disgust of the Fluminense faithful, Braga insisted his teams confidence is still sky high.

”It is important to make it clear that the opponent played a better second half and my substitutions didn’t have the expected effect. Last Saturday it went right, but not today. But I take the full responsibility for this defeat,” said the 59-year old.

”The result doesn’t change anything that we’ve planned. Next Saturday, the reserves will play against Duque de Caxias. My players confidence continues to remain undiminished.”
