Paulo César Lima, or better known as, Caju, was an attacking midfielder that was part of the famous 1970 Brazilian world cup winning side. He played for a number of clubs in Brazil, some of which included the big four Carioca clubs (Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco).

Caju also ventured to Europe in the mid-70s, where he had a brief stint with French side, Olympique Marseille.

When Sambafoot caught up with the legendary Brazilian midfielder, Caju revealed his picks for the 2011 Samba Gold Trophy.

First Pick – Nenê, PSG

”In May I was in France and I watched Brazil verses France and then I went to Marseille and saw Marseille against Manchester United. After I then watched three Paris Saint-German games, so in this period of 2011, I choose Nenê of PSG.

”After a spectacular season in Monaco he was signed by PSG, which in Brazil didn’t get much attention. He came to play for Santos, but he’s doing very well there in France. He’s the best Brazilian (player) this year.”

Second Pick – Hulk, Porto

”Hulk of Porto. He has been playing beautifully in championships last year and the year before last. He’s a very fast forward and he strikes the ball well. He’s similar to Bufalo Gil (former Botafogo striker).”

Third pick – Fernandinho, Shakhtar Donestk
