Barcelona’s Brazilian defender, Adriano, got on the score sheet first taking advantage of a blunder by Al-Sadd goalkeeper, Mohamed Saqr in the twenty fifth minute.

A cross sent from the left wing sent in by Pedro found its way to Nadri Belhaji who hesitantly tried to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper, Saqr, who failed to get the ball clear for Adriano to charge in to tap the ball in from close range.

The Brazilian full-back then doubled the Catalan sides lead just before the break, finding the back of the net with left-footed strike from just inside the Al-Sadd penalty area, which crept under Saqr and in to the back of the net.

Barcelona came out for the second half in cruise control and grabbed their third in the sixty third minute, when Messi put through Keita, who finished with a flick passed a helpless Saqr.

Keita’s replacement, Maxwell, scored the final goal of the night ten minutes from time, coming in from the left wing, striking a left-footed shot from a tight angle which came off the leg of Saqr and in to the back of the net.

Despite Barcelona happy to make the final, their win will be overshadowed by the fact  their star striker, David Villa, was stretchered off in the thirty ninth minute with a broken shinbone after he collided with two Al-Sadd defenders.

The striker is expected to be out for six weeks, but Barcelona must now prepare themselves to take on Santos in the final on Sunday, 10:30am (GMT) in the Nissan Stadium, Yokohama.
