The 2012 season has not even started yet, but the first Fla-Flu of the year seems to of already kicked off, but this time in the transfer market.

According to a report from Globoesporte website, Fluminense are awaiting the outcome of the negotiations taking place between their local rivals, Flamengo, as they try to take ownership of the 90% economic rights that belong to Saudi Arabian club, Al-Hilal.

The Rubro Negro club currently own 10% of Thiago Neves economic rights and have been trying to negotiate a deal with the Arabian club throughout the course of the season to bring the player to Gávea on a permanent basis.

However, Flamengo have so far failed to offer the €8 million asking price the Saudi club want for their star midfielder and Al-Hilal are now willing to negotiate with other clubs, with Flu believed to be already preparing an offer.
