Santos’ Neymar was was named amongst the twenty three man short list in early November, but FIFA have now shortened that list down to the three candidates that play their trade in Spain’s La Liga.

Despite the Brazilian ace not in the race for the world player of the year award, the nineteen year old will still travel to Switzerland on the 9th January, 2012, as his goal against Flamengo in July, is up for the Puskas Award for best goal of the year.

Neymar will be competing against Wayne Rooney’s bicycle goal against Manchester City and Lionel Messi’s impudent flick over Arsenal goalkeeper, Manuel Almunia, in last season’s Champions League.
