In the wake of his fine performance against Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday, Marca has revealed that 77% of people who responded to the poll want the 29-year-old to keep his place in the starting XI.

Kaka was the main difference between the two sides, providing an assist as well as grabbing a goal himself as Real recorded a comfortable 3-0 win. This prompted the Spanish newspaper to declare: “Kaka is back.”

Aitor Karanka, Real’s assistant manager, summed up the Brazilian midfielder’s situation perfectly, commenting: “Kaka has had a rough time, but now he looks happy,” with the player himself echoing Karanka’s words.

“I have started to enjoy football again,” he said. “Slowly things are coming back to me and I was in no pain at all. Not only did I play well today, I have also improved in recent games.”

Kaka was strongly linked with a move away from the Bernabeu during the summer after two injury hit seasons with Real. Now though, it seems as if he is beginning to rebuild his career in Spain, and is on his way back to the world class form he displayed at Milan.
