The 23-year old was recently called up the Brazil squad to face Argentina and has been one of the star performers this season, with him becoming a fans favourite.

However, he has came out and confirmed his heart is still with Vasco and money is not a factor in him deciding whether to stay or leave.

Dede said: “What I proposed to Vasco, it’s a dream come true. My goal is not to be filthy rich but to make a story and give comfort to my family.

“Vasco gives me that. I have the goal of playing in the Champions league in Europe one day but I do not think anything of it at the moment.”

Dede is being looked at by a series of clubs including QPR and Fiorentina but there is also interest from the Middle East.

Dede is focused on the championship at the moment and believes it is always nice to hear people say good things about his football.

Dede continued: “In addition to the family and my friends, even fans of other teams such as Cruzeiro and Flamengo have supported me on Twitter.

“At the airport, whilst coming home from Brazil duty, a fan of Flamengo told me he liked a lot of my football, it gives me a lot of confidence.”
