Sambafoot recently reported the news that the 19-year-old could be set for a move to the Catalan side, with the deal set to allow him to remain with Santos until January 2013.
Now, Brazilian newspaper Estadão, the same paper that broke the story originally, claims that Barca may announce the signing on Monday, after Santos’ game with Corinthians on Sunday night.
It is believed that Barcelona want to get the deal done as quickly as possible in order to prevent their arch rivals Real Madrid from trying to snatch Neymar from underneath their noses.
Santos were hopeful of sparking a bidding war between the two clubs in the hope of getting more money for their star player, but the Madrid press, who are usually very vocal about Real’s transfer targets, have made no mention of Neymar recently.
