Ganso limped off after only ten minutes of last night’s match, with what was thought to be the recurrence of a thigh injury.

The young playmaker has been involved for both Santos and Brazil on a regular basis in recent months, and Elano says it makes injury more likely.

“I saw when he got hurt in the first few minutes of the game,” Elano told Terra. “I hope it’s nothing serious.

“These things happen. Some players get hurt more often than others. With the amount of games we’re playing, players are more susceptible to this nowadays.

“Ganso played for Santos against Internacional last Wednesday, then took a plane the next day before training and playing with Brazil, and ended up getting injured.”

It has been a difficult year for Ganso with injuries. Last August he was ruled out for six months due to knee surgery, and in May of this year he picked up a thigh injury that kept him out for six weeks.
