The 27-year-old has recently been touted as a possible replacement for the outgoing Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri. The Independent recently confirmed that the deal was all but done, for a reported £12 million.
However, speaking at Arsenal’s pre-match press conference for their game against Newcastle, Wenger said: “We are nowhere near on Jadson. We are not talking to Shakhtar about him.”
