Bahia 0-1 Corinthians

The only goal of the game came after 13 minutes when Chicão scored from the penalty spot. Corinthians are now top of the league, one point ahead of second placed Sao Paulo and having played one game less.

Vasco da Gama 0-3 Cruzeiro

Joel Santana continued his winning start as Cruzeiro boss with the side’s second win in as many games. Leandro Guerreiro put the visitors in front 53′, and injury-time goals from Walter Montillo and Roger (a penalty) put the icing on the cake for Santana’s men.

Gremio 2-2 Avai

Avai went ahead via Gustavo Bastos on four minutes, and despite having Batista sent off two minutes after half time, doubled their lead on 51′ thanks to Robinho. Gremio responded when Douglas scored from the penalty spot on 73′, but he was sent off three minutes later. However, the hosts snatched a point with a goal in stoppage time from Rafael Marques.
