Sao Paulo 0-2 Botafogo

After winning their first five games, Sao Paulo have now lost their last two. Elkeson put Botafogo in front ten minutes before half time, and German Herrera secured victory with a penalty on 52 minutes.

Figueirense 2-1 Santos

Copa Libertadores champions Santos suffered defeat as they returned to league action without Neymar, Ganso and Elano. Aloisio put the hosts in front after just five minutes, but Santos equalised two minutes later through Rychely. However, another goal from Aloisio shortly after the half hour helped Figueirense secure the win and move up to fourth.

America Mineiro 2-3 Flamengo

Flamengo are now in fifth place after winning away at America. Ronaldinho put the visitors in front on ten minutes, but America went in at the break ahead thanks to goals from Alessandro and Anderson Cleber on 37 and 45 minutes respectively. Deivid equalised for Flamengo ten minutes into the second half, and after Leandro Ferreira was sent off for the home side with 18 minutes to go, it was left to that man Ronaldinho to score again and seal the win for the away side five minutes from time.
