Fluminense lost to Bahia 1-0 and Fred missed a chance at the very last minute of the game to secure a draw. This triggered the fans anger and they starting booing him.

“The fans are sad, and we are as well. Everybody is annoyed. We hoped to win, especially playing at home. We are angry for the quantity of errors in the passing game, in the simple thing. That kills the confidence of the team,” Fred said.

If Brazil reaches the final of the Copa America, Fred will miss six games with Fluminense (the Brasileirao doesn’t stop during international games/competitions).

“I’ll support them from there. We have a strong group and we’ll find a way out,” he said.

After two defeats in a row for Fluminense, the striker avoided the critics and pointed at the team. “We played badly, there is no point in talking about the result. The entire team didn’t manage to play well and Bahia was quick in counter attacks,” Fred said.
