Leonardo took over from Rafa Benitez in January and guided Inter to a second place finish in the league and victory in the Coppa Italia. However, Moratti told the official club website that they may soon be looking for a new manager.

“Leonardo has coached with so much willingness and passion,” Moratti said to Inter.it. “But it’s certainly not his ambition for the future. The best thing is that he follows his aim and we look for a new coach. It could be that he changes his mind and so will we.”

Marcelo Bielsa has been rumoured as a potential replacement for Leonardo, and Moratti confirmed the club had been in talks with the man who left his post in charge of Chile in February: “I believe there has been a first contact with Bielsa, but not from me,” said Moratti.

Paris St Germain have been linked with a move for Leonardo and hope to appoint him as their technical director.
