Atletico’s main summer target had been Espanyol’s Pablo Osvaldo, but they have been put off by a price tag of €20 million.
Now, AS reports that they will switch their attentions to Nilmar of Villarreal, who has impressed in his two seasons in Spain and could be seen as a cheaper replacement should Sergio Aguero leave.
As well as Nilmar, AS also linked Atletico with Dani Guiza of Fenerbahce.
