Despite being a giant in Brazilian football, Vasco has never won the Brazilian Cup. As for Coritiba this final will be a first. Both teams will have a lot to prove tonight in São Januário stadium in Rio de Janeiro before the return game next week in Coritiba.

Both Vasco and Coritiba will be pressured to win as they both suffer a lack of titles in recent years.

Vasco hasn’t won a title in eight years. The last one was in 2003 and it was the Carioca Championship.   A competition they nearly won this year but they were beaten by Flamengo in the final of the Taca Rio.

Coritiba on the other hand has never won a national competition. But they will be the favourites tonight as they have just won the State Championship of Parana.

Possible line-up for tonight:

Vasco da Gama : Fernando Prass ; Allan, Dedé, Anderson Martins et Marcio Careca; Eduardo Costa, Romulo, Felipe et Diego Souza; Bernardo et Alecsandro

Coritiba : Edson Bastos ; Jonas, Emerson, Demerson et Lucas Mendes; Willian, Léo Gago, Rafinha et Davi; Anderson Aquino et Bill.
