Fluminense defeated Botafogo 3-1 in the Tricolor Carioca Championship and two of their young stars caught the eye.
Fluminense were 1-0 down before Kenedy and Gerson struck to make it 2-1. After the match reports started to circulate that Manchester United were watching the young pair. Kenedy is 19 while Gerson is only 17.
Fluminense captain Fred scored the final goal of the game and he warned club officials that they should not jeopardize the youngster’s career for a quick pay out.
“These players are very talented, it is certain that many proposals will appear, the biggest clubs in the world, from Europe. If you have career planning … We saw Neymar staying in Brazil for three or four years, with good pay, and his value soared. He was loved by the media, by fans of all clubs. They have the potential for it.”
