The list was based on salary, endorsements and assets, as well as taking outside business interests into consideration.
The list was compiled by GOAL and the top ten includes three Brazilian players, namely Neymar, Kaká and Ronaldinho. Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo claimed first place, with Barcelona duo Messi and Neymar completing the top three. Orlando City’s captain Kaká and Querétaro’s Ronaldinho both featured in the top ten and were placed 6th and 9th respectively. Those who qualify for the list include Fifa-registered professional players of all nationalities in any professional league – or registered players currently without a club, but who are actively looking to sign for a professional outfit.
