Romarinho, son of former striker Romário is one of the highlights of the current edition of the Copa São Paulo. The young striker, who plays for Vasco and scored in their opening encounter, stood-out yesterday once more, having come off the bench to help break the deadlock.

“After my goal in the first game, my father called me all happy, to congratulate me,” said the youngster. “He said he thought the goal was very cool.”

Like his father, Romarinho has proved to be a journalist’s dream with his statements to the press. As happened when asked who was better out of Ronaldo and Romário:

“Romário or Ronaldo? I think my father was better, no doubt. After Pele, next is my father. Messi is the best today, but he is not at the level of my father.”
