With Karim Benzema leaving for Al Ittihad, the BBC era is officially over at Real Madrid. Now, it’s turn for other bright talents to take over. Both Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo have proven to be up to the task in the last few seasons, which is why the club is leaning on them for the future.

The Brazilian stars have already shown what they’re capable of at the Bernabéu, and they have not even unlocked their full potential yet. With many players leaving Madrid this summer, the wingers are making a significant change in their jersey numbers.

Vinicius inherits the historic No. 11 while Rodrygo will wear No. 11

Eden Hazard’s departure left Real Madrid’s historic No. 7 shirt up for grabs, and the club didn’t hesitate to hand it to Vinicius Junior. The Flamengo product has become the face of this team, and from now on, he’ll wear the jersey previously donned by the likes of Emilio Butrageño, Raúl and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Rodrygo, meanwhile, will take the No. 11 left by Marco Asensio, who will not renew his contract with ‘El Merengue.’ This means an upgrade for both Brazilians, who are ready to embrace a bigger role in the Spanish capital. Vinicius had previously worn No. 20, while Rodrygo used the No. 21 shirt.
