According to recent reports, Neymar has expressed his desire to join Manchester United this summer. In fact, he reportedly refused to leave Paris Saint-Germain for any other club. According to Foot Mercato, the 31-year-old has come to terms with the fact that he has no future at Parc des Princes this summer and is now fully focused on completing his move to Old Trafford.

Last week, L’Equipe announced that the Red Devils were already engaged in advanced discussions with PSG over a potential move for the most expensive player in history – the French club forked out €222m to sign him from Barcelona in 2017. After scoring 118 goals and winning multiple titles with the Parisians, they could now be headed for divorce.

Neymar reportedly interested in Manchester United move

United coach Erik ten Hag recently stated his burning desire to add more firepower. In a statement to The Times, he said: “In addition to Marcus Rashford, we need an additional player who can score goals, either from our own squad or through recruitment.”

Therefore, this could be the perfect timing to seize Neymar’s reported interest. If the move goes through, it’s likely the Brazilian star will play on the left flank. However, as he has already shown with the national team, he is also capable of playing with freedom as No. 10.

Neymar wouldn’t be the only star player planning to leave the French capital this summer. Argentina legend Lionel Messi is also expected to leave, with his contract with PSG expiring next month. Although he received offers to play in Saudi Arabia and the USA, FC Barcelona hope to complete his return and pair him with Robert Lewandowski in attack.
