Grêmio secured another victory in the Gaúcho Championship this Saturday. The team defeated Santa Cruz-RS 6-2 at the Grêmio Arena, temporarily taking the top spot in the table with 20 points. Internacional is in second place with 19 points. The Colorado will face Novo Hamburgo this Sunday.
On the following Sunday, February 25, Internacional and Grêmio will face each other at Beira-Rio for the tenth round of the State Championship. Renato Gaúcho’s team is eagerly awaiting the debut of center-forward Diego Costa. The Grêmio coach spoke about the matter after the match against Santa Cruz-RS.

“The player will give us the answer. He has been out for a long time, practically not doing anything since leaving Botafogo. He is an above-average player and will add a lot to our team,” said the coach.
“The only thing he asked for was to train for about 15 days. There’s no point in rushing the player because then he might get injured,” he continued.
“I have been talking to him daily. Will he play in the Grenal? He will be the one to give us that answer. We have a full week ahead, we will work a lot, and towards the end of the week, we will see if we can use him or not,” the coach concluded.
