The president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, announced on Friday (16) Rodrigo Caetano as the new general executive coordinator of the Men’s National Teams. At 53 years old, he will be in charge of the sector that oversees the Main National Team and the U-15, U-17, and U-20 teams of the Brazilian National Team.

He will work alongside coach Dorival Júnior in the Copa America and in the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. Caetano will also plan the entire calendar for the youth National Teams.

“I thank President Ednaldo for this invitation, undoubtedly the biggest challenge of my career. It couldn’t be any different given the size of the institution and the responsibility. I feel very honored by the choice, being called up to the National Team is a summons, that’s how I feel,” said the new National Teams coordinator.

“I also thank Dorival very much, with whom I have had the opportunity to work at two big clubs; now we will resume this partnership. The trust he places in our work is important. Special thanks also to Galo, my last job, which ultimately qualified me to be here today, and to all the clubs I have been through, which contributed to my development and the experience I have gained over these 20 years,” he added.

Rodrigo Caetano also mentioned that he has already started his work leading the Men’s National Teams department.

“We have already begun our work because it involves a lot of planning and structuring to provide the best team of people to the Brazilian National Team athletes, not only to those on the Main Team. Our goal is for them, when they are here representing this shirt, our nation, to be certain of the size of responsibility and pride that I feel today, that Dorival and the coaching staff feel, that the president feels,” he explained.
