Guerrero scored the winning goal in the second half, after getting an assist from Thiago Galhardo. In a duel of two teams that came from trauma by defeats to their rivals in the state, it was a case of who would be more motivated on the evening.

Coritiba and Inter had a slow first half, almost stopping, at Couto Pereira. The home team started the game with the lines early and played with intensity to catch Inter with the initial pressure. But little by little, Coxa retreated, and Colorado took over the game. Eduardo Coudet’s team had more possession of the ball, but was unable to create a clear cut chance for goal in the final third.

As soon as Inter returned from the break, Inter occupied the Coritiba field.

The team had the ball and was around the area, but without much effectiveness. In a rare infiltration, Patrick was brought down by Sabino inside the area. The referee ordered the game to continue. Even with possession control, Colorado was unable to be aggressive and tried more of the aerial ball.

However, the game changed after the entry of Thiago Galhardo. In three minutes, he assisted Guerrero to score the winning goal in the 70th minute. Coxa pressed. Disorganized and in vain.

Inter have three points and are currently in second place for the Brasileirão. Coritiba finds themselves in the lower ends of the log standing.

Coritiba will return to the field next Wednesday, at 8:30 pm, to face Bahia in Pituaçu, for the 2nd round of the Brasileirão. Inter host Santos at Beira-Rio on Thursday, at 7:30 pm.
