This Wednesday (3), Ademir da Guia celebrates 82 years of life. The Divine has a victorious history wearing the Palmeiras shirt, a team he defended for 16 years, as well as representing the Brazilian National Team.

Ademir is from Rio de Janeiro, and he began his football career at Bangu. In a friendly match against Palmeiras, the athlete wearing the red and white colors caught the attention of the Verdão’s coaching staff and was soon transferred.

The star was born on April 3, 1942, and even before coming into the world, his family was already famous in football: his father, Domingos da Guia, was one of the great players of Brazilian football. In addition, three of his uncles had also played for Bangu.

Among his main titles for Palestra are four Brazilian Championship victories (1967, 1969, 1972, and 1973) and five São Paulo State Championship wins (1963, 1966, 1972, 1974, and 1976).

For the Brazilian National Team, Ademir da Guia participated in the 1974 World Cup, the year the Yellow Jersey finished in fourth place in the competition.
