“The best days of my life.” That’s how Aline described her participation in the World Cup. The 18-year-old and Tainara, 24, were called up to Australia as substitutes and would be ready to take the field if necessary. After training this Wednesday, the players returned to Brazil.

Initially, Angelina occupied the position of third substitute, but was given the opportunity to enter the group after Nycole’s injury. The attacker suffered a sprained left ankle during a training game at Gold Coast and had to be dropped from the squad.

During the farewell, the number 10 of the national team, Marta, gave a speech full of gratitude and affection for the players who were leaving the group.

“We just have to thank you. We will miss you so much, but knowing that you will follow with us, even if you are not here physically, you will be present in our memories and in our hearts. Let’s go together, as it always was and always has to be, from beginning to end.”

Representing the Brazilian National Team is the dream of many girls who aspire to wear the national team shirt, and for Tainara it was no different.

“I always heard that representing the national team was something great, and I’m going to formulate that sentence and add something that for me is incredible. Playing with you is wonderful”, said the defender.

Despite not taking the field with the Brazilian shirt, the duo was present in the last duel against Panama. The team’s unity was one of the main points of this call-up, which made the players’ farewell even more exciting.

“These were the best days of my life, without a doubt. I am very, very happy. I really wish I could stay here with you, but I’ll be watching from afar and cheering for all of you”, concluded Aline.
