TITE WISHES MESSI WAS BRAZILIAN
Brazil boss Tite has admitted that he wishes Lionel Messi was Brazilian. The Argentine is widely considered the greatest player in world football and one of the most foremost footballing talents of all time.
Despite the great rivalry between the two nations, the Seleção boss says he would love to have Messi to count on, “Yes, I wish Messi had been born in Brazil. Regardless of the great rivalry between Brazil and Argentina, someone only becomes a rival if you admire them.
“We have an admiration for the Argentines. Messi is impressive. His creative ability is extraordinary- beyond normal standards. He has a three-dimensional view and can see what others do not see on the pitch.”
However, Tite would not be drawn on comparisons between Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, “They have different styles, one of them is a top scorer, finisher, strong. The other is playful, creative, magical; he has the ability to also participate in the individual game.”
Tite does get to count on Neymar, and the Brazil coach believes his talisman very much belongs on the same plane as Ronaldo and Messi, “Neymar has an unmatched 1 to 1, but this year he has developed an impressive ability to participate in the game, he became a master of assists.”
